As free citizens, we have a responsibility and a right to be interested and involved in local government and the community. It is okay to stand up, have your voice heard, and expect accountability and transparency.
A grassroots party formed by a small group of lifelong residents with the desire to make positive changes and implement fresh ideas in Elmwood Park, the Neighborhood Voice Party was formed late in 2010 with a few simple beliefs:
Over the next four months, thousands of Elmwood Park residents became interested and involved in the Neighborhood Voice Party. As the 2011 election neared, your neighbors put up lawn signs, knocked on doors, sent letters and emails, and spread the word about the Neighborhood Voice Party and the future of Elmwood Park.
On April 5th, 2011, Elmwood Park experienced the highest voter turnout in at least two decades, with nearly one in two voters demanding fresh ideas for their future. Elmwood Park sent a message to the administration: Stop with the nonsense. We WILL be heard!
Though the election is over, your voice was heard loud and clear…and it will continue to be heard! We will continue to demand answers, act as your voice, and uncover waste and abuse so that your taxes do not continue to rise as they have for more than a decade.
Sign up for periodic emails, come with us to a Village board meeting, or join us and hundreds of your neighbors and friends on Facebook. Together we can help ensure that Elmwood Park remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family for generations to come.
